Reader Opinion: Safety of our children

In these unique times every parent is rightly stressed about the safety of our children as schools reopen. Having two children in the Brainerd school system I feel this anxiety every minute. Considering potential harm to students in the Brainerd School District, I am far more worried about the threat posed by Sue Kern than COVID-19. At least I understand how a virus works, how it causes harm, how it spreads, and how to reduce risk to the community. In the case of Kern I am absolutely baffled by her willful embrace of ignorance, promotion of false narratives, and unwavering desire to ramrod dangerous agendas to the district. This includes health during a pandemic and academic excellence our children need to thrive in this world. While I support her rights to free speech I cannot support her repeated decisions that deny our children�s educational needs, impair success of students in the district, and oppose health care experts. Please stop giving her a platform that hurts our community.... Read more.
